Ripplewood: Autumn Dates & Big Plans

We’re rolling into the end of the year with a full heart and a full calendar—and we couldn’t be more excited to share what’s coming up for Ripplewood.

Our winter run is shaping up to be one of the most adventurous yet. We’ve been meeting twice a week in our little rehearsal space, surrounded by amps, cables, and way too many cups of coffee, fine-tuning arrangements, building segues, and digging into the deep corners of the Grateful Dead’s songbook. The set lists are evolving, the jams are stretching, and we’re finding new colors in tunes we’ve played a hundred times before.

November 28 is going to be a special one. We’re paying tribute to the legendary Lakeland Civic Center show from November 28, 1980—performing the entire second set from that night. It’s a set that moves from the sleek funk of Feel Like a Stranger to the cosmic explorations of Drums and Space, through Terrapin Station and Sugar Magnolia. We’ve been experimenting with how far we can push the Drums and Space section—expect some surprises.

Then, on December 6, we’re going back to the psychedelic heart of the Dead with a full performance of Anthem of the Sun in sequence. We’ve been poring over live tapes from ’68–’71, chasing the wild energy of those early years, and building transitions that feel like stepping into a time machine. The first set that night will be a love letter to the early ’70s—high harmonies, deep grooves, and plenty of room to roam.

We’ve also been talking stage design. Without giving too much away, let’s just say we’re playing with vintage light projections, some era-correct visuals, and a few touches that will make these shows immersive in a whole new way.

Every show on this run is a chance to go deeper, connect with the community, and celebrate the music we love. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or you’re catching your first Ripplewood gig, we can’t wait to see you, dance with you, and share the ride.
